Division Profile
The Southwest Division operates several aggregates, asphalt mix and ready-mixed concrete facilities within a large part of the State of Texas. In most markets, we provide delivery of our products through our Vulcan-owned transportation company. At our Uvalde plant, we produce a special product called rock asphalt – a limestone naturally impregnated with asphalt. Rock asphalt is used in highway maintenance. The Southwest Division was formed in 1987 when Vulcan combined newly acquired businesses with existing Texas operations. The Division places a high priority on serving our customers. Employees are committed to provide quality, service and support to maintain successful business relationships with our customers. 
 
The Division is also committed to provide a safe and environmentally secure workplace for all employees and to be a good neighbor and community citizen. Each year, our employees participate in various community activities across the state including a “sporting clays shoot” that raises money for the Cancer Therapy and Research Center in San Antonio. A number of our locations have set aside areas for wildlife and are certified by the Wildlife Habitat Council.
